According to the Union of Railway Trade Unions, there are about 20-30 train cancellations per day.
They point out that train delays are happening daily and derailments are also reported.
The union says that these situations arise because of the lack of trained workers and spare parts required for the maintenance of locomotives.
There should be 20,222 employees in the Railway Department.
But currently, only about 14,000 are working.
The association also stated that there are nearly 6,000 vacancies for trained employees in the railways.
