The National Election Commission says that the presidential election will definitely be held between September 17 and October 17.
Its chairman Mr. RMAL Ratnayake said that the upcoming presidential election will be officially announced at the end of July or the first few days of August.
Meanwhile, the Deputy and Assistant Election Commissioners have been called to Colombo today (03).
Mr. RMAL Ratnayake, Chairman of the Election Commission, mentioned that they were called to Colombo for a three-day workshop.
Its purpose is to create awareness for the implementation of the Election Expenses Regulation Act in the upcoming elections.
He also mentioned that for this purpose, the assistance of an expert with international experience in the regulation of election expenses will be sought.
