Minister of State for Transport Lasantha Alagiyawanna says that starting from the 15th of next month, a program will be started to give the driver’s license in Sri Lanka to the foreigners coming to Sri Lanka at the airport.
The Minister of State said that arrangements have been made for foreigners to apply for it at the airport and get the driver’s license when they come out.
Also, the State Minister mentioned that the program of giving compensation to the victims of road accidents without any judicial action has been started by now.
Accordingly, the state minister said that by applying to the relevant insurance company within one year of the accident, the maximum amount of compensation up to 5 lakh rupees will be available.
