A discussion will be held between Health Minister Ramesh Pathirana and representatives of the Health Trade Union Alliance today (01).
This discussion will be held to reach a final agreement regarding the demands presented to the government by the representatives of 72 health unions, including the increase in allowances.
In this regard, the co-convener of the Alliance of Health Trade Unions Mr. Chanaka Dharmawickrama said that the trade unions will be informed today about the recommendations prepared by the committee appointed by the Health Minister.
Recently, 72 health unions engaged in a strike across the island for a few days, demanding that the 35,000 rupees allowance given to the doctors by the government be given to them as well.
