The Sectoral Monitoring Committee on Economic Crisis Mitigation recommends that electricity tariff be reduced by over 20%.
The Parliamentary Communications Department stated that the recommendations have been forwarded to the Public Utilities Commission (PUCSL).
The electricity bill was raised last October.
Electricity Minister Mr. Kanchana Wijesekera said that this time the electricity bill will definitely be brought down.
