    IMF Officials are Looking into Electricity Tariffs

    Peter Brewer, the head of the International Monetary Fund’s senior mission for Sri Lanka, who is in Sri Lanka, has discussed with the Sri Lankan officials about the tax amendments related to electricity and energy in Sri Lanka.

    That was during the discussion held by the delegation at the Ministry of Power and Energy yesterday.

    Officials of the Petroleum Corporation and the Ministry of Finance have also participated in this.

    Power and Energy Minister Kanchana Wijesekera said that the reforms implemented by the government in the power and energy sectors, cost-reflective fuel price formulas and electricity tariffs, tariff revisions, forensic audits, balance sheets, the impact of taxes and sectoral reforms were discussed here.

    1. How can the IMF control our country and government. Terrible state of affairs this Rajapakse regime put the country into. Now we have IMF intereference in electricity tariffs and making the peoples lives miserable
