The government decides to stop emergency purchases of medicines with immediate effect.
Health Minister Keheliya Rambukwella announced this decision at a press conference held today (Oct 02).
Minister Keheliya Rambukwella added that a Medicines Management and Strategic Committee (MMSC) has been appointed to monitor, evaluate and regulate the Ministry’s procurement processes.
The Minister of Health stated that decisions have been taken to regulate, standardize and further speed up the process of drug procurement for Sri Lanka.
