Russia fired shots at a ship that went to Ukraine in the Black Sea

A Russian warship reportedly fired warning shots at a cargo ship in the southwestern Black Sea on Sunday.

Accordingly, this is the first warning shot after Russia withdrew from the Black Sea Grain Transport Agreement with the United Nations last month.

As Russia pulled out of the accord with the United Nations, it announced that any vessel sailing through the Black Sea towards Ukraine would be considered a vessel supplying arms to Ukraine.

Meanwhile, Russia issued a statement saying that the ship belonging to the Russian security forces, which was on patrol, fired a warning shot after the captain of the vessel did not respond to the request to stop the vessel for inspection.

Ukraine issued a statement regarding the incident and said that it strongly condemns the shooting and it is an unnecessary incitement.

With Russia not allowing Ukraine’s wheat products to be transported in the Black Sea, the price of wheat flour in Europe has also increased recently.

However, Russia has yet to announce any indication that it will withdraw its decision.
