Asela Sampath, the National Organizer of the All-Island Restaurant Owners’ Association and the Convener of the Movement for the Protection of Public Rights has been arrested by a special police team of the CID today (25).
Police Media Spokesman Senior DIG Ajith Rohana stated that he was arrested following an investigation into a complaint lodged with the CID by the State Ministry of Pharmaceutical Production, Supply and Regulation.
Ajith Rohana further stated that a statement made by him regarding the Astra Seneca vaccine has given rise to the complaint.
