Yesterday was a wonderful day for the hundreds of employees at the Cinnamon Grand Hotel.
That’s because two months’ salary is credited to their bank accounts at once.
The hotel staff has been credited twice in June due to a computer glitch in the bank that handles Cinnamon Ground’s payroll.
However, many employees who did not realize the bank’s accounting error had withdrawn the money and pocketed it, thinking it was a bonus given in the middle of the year.
As a result, it has become increasingly difficult for the John Keells Group’s Cinnamon Grand Hotel to recover their overpayments given to the employees.
