A committee to make laws against people who insults religions

The government decides to appoint a committee made up of a group of religious leaders to introduce legal regulations to prevent insulting religious teachings.

Accordingly, this committee will be appointed by representing religious leaders of major religions such as Buddhist, Muslim, Hindu, Catholic and Christian, legal experts, media and civil society activists.

The government has taken this step because of the need to introduce legal provisions to protect religious freedom and prevent the insulting of religious teachings.

Taking into consideration a proposal presented by the Minister of Buddhasasana, Religious and Cultural Affairs, the Cabinet of Ministers has approved yesterday to appoint the committee to study the facts and submit a report with recommendations.

    1. How ridiculous. If someone insults someone elses religion the first question that should be asked is, was that god or diety hurt or injured by the insults, if not, and in all cases it would be that the diety didnt even hear the insult, then why bother? Why waste state machinery and money that this country cannot afford ti spend on something as petty as this. People really need to get out of their pathetic little boxes of insecurity.

    2. The Dharma Chakra in the picture doesn’t reflect the accepted version by the Buddhist hierarchy. This must be sorted out before promulgation of any laws. Remember what happened to a Muslim lady for wearing a dress with ship 🛞.
