A team of Eraur police officers has arrested a suspect who had set fire to a motorcycle on the railway line between Wandaramulla and Devapuram stations.
The 26-year-old suspect, a resident of Wandaramulla, set the motorcycle on fire on the night of the 21st.
Due to this arson, the Meenagaya train which was running from Batticaloa to Colombo had to be stopped at that place for about 10 minutes, said Eraur police.
The police say that this motorcycle was set on fire based on a dispute between two parties.
A senior police officer said that further investigations are going on in this regard. The suspect was arrested yesterday.
