    An Indian who was suspiciously going around in Ratnapura has been remanded

    An Indian national who was arrested by the Ratnapura Police on suspicion of having come for some sabotage act has been remanded by the Ratnapura Magistrate’s Court until today (24).

    Police say that the Indian named Apoorwagani Mohammad Yasmin (43) was remanded.

    The Ratnapura police headquarters say that the Indian, who was staying without a visa, was arrested yesterday (22) on the suspicion that he had come for some sabotage activity.

    A senior police officer stated that the investigation revealed that this Indian national had been working as a production manager in a garment factory located in Welimaluwa, Ratnapura, from 2009 to 2014.

    Investigations have revealed that he then went to India and returned on March 18 and that he was staying in a church in Colombo. The police say that this Indian suddenly came to Ratnapura yesterday from Colombo.

    The police say that they have even called a report from the immigration department regarding this Indian.
