    A decision about the parliament meeting

    Parliament is scheduled to meet only on the 4th Tuesday of next week.

    The announcement issued by the Parliamentary Secretary General Dhammika Dissanayake states that this was decided in the recent Parliamentary Affairs Committee chaired by Speaker Mahinda Yapa Abeywardena.

    Accordingly, it is stated in the announcement that the Parliament will meet on April 4th at 9.30 am, and the time from 9.30 am to 10.30 am is reserved for questions that require oral answers.

    Then from 10.30 am to 5.00 pm, an order published regarding the amendment of the Cess Tax in the Gazette No. 2306/15 under the Sri Lanka Export Development Act No. 40 of 1979 and 02 regulations published in the Gazette 2320/46 and 2320/47 under the Import and Export (Control) Act No. 1 of 1969, are to be debated and approved.

    Then from 5.00 pm to 5.30 pm, time is reserved for questions when the House is adjourned.

    It is further stated in the announcement issued by the Secretary-General that instead of the second parliamentary week of April 2023 from April 18 to 22, 2023, the Parliament will meet from Tuesday, April 25th to Friday, April 28th.
