A circular will be issued on Monday to increase the stipend given for GCE answer sheet examiners

Education Minister Susil Premajayantha says that a special circular will be issued by next Monday.

It is a circular for increasing the stipend given to GCE answer paper examiners.

Speaking at the school uniform distribution ceremony, the minister said that there is a need for 19,000 examiners to check the answer sheets of the A/L examination.

The minister also mentioned that the number of 15,000 teachers who have applied for it is not enough, so a cabinet memorandum has been submitted and approved to increase the allowance given to answer sheet examiners.

According to the new circular, the minister further said that he expects that the professional associations will think about the children who have written the advanced level and refer their expert teachers for the examination of answer sheets.
