According to the Army Media Spokesman Brigadier Ravi Herath, more than 15,000 military personnel have offered to resign during the General Amnesty period given to members of the tri-forces who are not reporting for duty to leave the service legally.
Army Media Spokesman Brigadier Ravi Herath stated that 15,476 Army personnel had come forward to leave the service legally between the date of the announcement of the General Amnesty period and yesterday (14).
A General Amnesty period has been announced from last November 15 to December 31.
He also mentions that the necessary arrangements to remove 15,165 military personnel from the service legally have already been made.
Another 194 officers are to be dismissed after getting the clearance reports.
