A 15-year-old student, who was upset by being ranked 31st in the school’s term examination results, committed suicide by hanging herself yesterday.
While getting ready to go to school, she has committed this crime by writing a letter.
Investigations have revealed that she was 30th in the previous term’s examination and is very disappointed about being 31st this time.
A female student residing in Pugoda, Patitiyagama, Ididmalgama has committed suicide.
This student’s father is a three-wheeler driver. Mother is a garment factory worker. She has an older brother and sister. Pugoda Police stated that both of them are also employed.
Police say that she committed this crime in her bedroom while she was getting ready to go to school. The mother, father and brother were at home when the crime took place. They saw that the student had committed suicide only after everything was over.
