Investigations have revealed that the police officer who is said to be involved in the kidney smuggling that is said to have happened in connection with a private hospital located in Rajagiriya is an officer who has served as an OIC of the Western Provincial Intelligence Bureau.
He is currently working at the Colombo Fraud Investigation Bureau. This officer is a Chief Inspector of Police.
For some time, this officer has worked in Colombo Crime Division. There, he was removed from the Colombo Criminal Investigation Division for his involvement in suppressing the investigation into the murder of the owner of Biyagama Village hotel.
This officer is closely associated with many high-ranking officers of the police.
A strong suspicion has arisen among the police officers as to why the law has not been implemented against this officer so far.
