The Finance Committee of the Government has ordered to calculate and present the selling price of an egg within a week.
There are regulations under the Import and Export (Control) Act No. 1 of 1969 relating to importing poultry feed into Sri Lanka.
Considering the relevant regulations, the officials of the Ministry of Finance and Trade were ordered by Mr. (Dr.) Harsha De Silva, Chairman of the Government Finance Committee, to calculate and obtain the proper price within a week at which an egg can be sold according to today’s price.
This matter was discussed when the Committee on Public Accounts (COPA) met yesterday (24) in Parliament.
