The government has decided to lift the ban on glyphosate imports.
Accordingly, the Secretary of the Ministry of Agriculture said that the gazette of lifting the glyphosate ban was handed over to the government press for printing.
After a number of inquiries made by the Minister of Agriculture Mahinda Amaraweera from various sectors including farmer representatives, agricultural experts, agronomists about the glyphosate ban, it has been decided to lift the ban.
Glyphosate, a herbicide, was banned from being imported into Sri Lanka in 2015.
