The government is preparing to implement the fuel price formula once a month.
Electricity and Energy Minister Mr. Kanchana Wijesekera said that the related proposal will be submitted to the cabinet tomorrow (21).
The minister expressed these views while attending the 50th anniversary event of Petroleum Dealers Association.
“The fuel price formula was supposed to be implemented twice a month, on the 1st and 15th of every month. However, we found that the orders were not placed two days before the relevant dates as the dealers would incur financial loss. Therefore, we have decided to implement the fuel price formula once a month. He further said that the related proposal will be submitted to the cabinet on Monday.
