According to the Meteorological Department, rain or thundershowers will occur in many parts of the island during the evening or at night.
Heavy rains of up to 100 mm may occur at some places.
It will rain in the morning in Eastern Province and Polonnaruwa and Mullaitivu districts.
People are kindly requested to take necessary measures to minimize the danger caused by temporary strong winds and lightning that may accompany thunderstorms.
