06 suspects along with 300 kilos of heroin have been arrested in a joint operation by the Police Narcotics Bureau and the Navy on the southern coast.
The suspects are residents of Matara Kottegoda and Kuda Wella. It is said that there is a woman among them.
These people, who were arrested along with a multi-day vessel and a drug boat, are currently being brought to Galle port.
These days, one gram of heroin is said to be sold among drug traffickers at a price of Rs 30,000. Accordingly, one kilo of heroin will cost around Rs. 30 million. A gram of the drug ice is sold for Rs.10,000. Accordingly, the price of a kilo of ice will be Rs. 10 million. The value of this 300 kilos of heroin will be around Rs. 9 billion.
