G7 support to restructure Sri Lanka’s debt

The G7 countries have decided to support Sri Lanka’s debt restructuring talks.

This was decided in a discussion held yesterday at the embassy of Germany in this country, which chairs the G7 group.

Ambassadors of the G7 countries and representatives of the International Monetary Fund have also participated in this discussion.

Accordingly, the members of the G7 group in Sri Lanka have come to an agreement to negotiate with creditors including India and China for debt restructuring talks in Sri Lanka.

The German ambassador to this country said that the discussion was successful.

They emphasize that Germany is committed to a timely solution to Sri Lanka’s debt crisis and hopes to continue this discussion with major creditors and the Paris Club regarding debt restructuring soon.

The Group of Seven (G7) is an inter-state political forum consisting of Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, the United Kingdom and the United States.

In addition, the European Union is an uncounted member.

The G7 members are the countries with world’s largest, advanced economies and liberal democracies in the International Monetary Fund.

    1. It is very interesting to see the Prime Minister visit the Pensions Department. At least he understands the travails of the Sri Lankan pensioners, who have served the country very well.

I am still waiting to receive my Sri Lankan Pension. I know I was late in applying for it. It’s been a very long time , Can someone help me. I have been in contact with the Combined Services of the Ministry of Public Administration and they have been trying to help me. I need some help to expedite this. Any advice will be welcome

    What do you think?
