The Department of Meteorology has issued a warning about strong lightning conditions for the period from today to tomorrow (12) 11.00 am.
According to the announcement, thundershowers with strong lightning may occur at several places in Uva, Eastern, Northern, North-Central and Central provinces.
Some places in those areas may experience light rain of more than 75 mm.
Thunderstorms may produce temporary gusty winds in those areas.
The public is kindly requested to take necessary measures to minimize the accidents caused by lightning.
