State Minister for Primary Industries Mr. Chamara Sampath Dasanayake was assaulted with a motorcycle helmet by two persons yesterday evening at Badulla Bandaranaike Mawatha.
The attack took place when the state minister stopped his car near the shop belonging to a member of the Badulla local council and was having a conversation.
The Minister of State was not harmed in this attack. At that time, the security guards of the ministers were also there. They used their power to prevent the second attack.
The police have arrested one person for assaulting the state minister.
