Labor and Foreign Employment Minister Manusha Nanayakkara says that the pension for foreign employees who send money to Sri Lanka through banks will be introduced next week.
The minister also said that arrangements will be made to provide housing loans at subsidized interest to the workers who legally send the money they earn to Sri Lanka through the banking system.
Commenting further on that, the Minister said, “We promised to provide new benefits when the money earned by foreign employees is sent legally to Sri Lanka through the banking system. We are fulfilling our prom we made. We have started giving licenses to import an electric vehicle for the foreign employees who send money to Sri Lanka. At the same time, the cabinet approved to increase the duty concession given at the airport to 6550 dollars. We are working to introduce the pension for the foreign employees in the next week. We are also working to provide housing loans at subsidized interest for employees who are legally sent their earnings to Sri Lanka through the banking system.”
Your title “PENSION FOR FOREIGN EMPLOYEES” is confusing…
Shouldn’t it be “PENSIONS FOR SRI LANKANS EMPLOYED IN FOREIGN COUNTRIES”
Exactly !
