The Cabinet has decided to allocate a land owned by the Sri Lanka Railway Department for Nawalapitiya Al Safa Primary School.
The announcement issued by the Cabinet Office is as follows.
Nawalapitiya Al Safa Primary School was newly established in the year 2013 as part of the 1,000 secondary school reconstruction program and the necessary building space was obtained from a warehouse belonging to the Nawalapitiya railway station owned by the Sri Lanka Railway Department.
At present, due to the increase in the number of students in the school, the building is not sufficient, so the need to construct permanent buildings has been recognized.
Accordingly, the approval of the Cabinet was given to the proposal jointly submitted by the Minister of Education and the Minister of Transport and Highways to legally set aside a 02 acre piece of land at Karahandungala, Nawalapitiya Godamuduna, belonging to the Sri Lanka Railway Department, for the said school.
