The President has appointed several new officers to his staff.
Accordingly, former Minister Sagala Ratnayake has been appointed to the position of Senior Advisor to the President on National Security and Chief of Staff to the President.
Mr. Sagala Ratnayake also served as the Minister of Law and Order in the Yahapalana Government.
Meanwhile, it is reported that Mr. Dhanushka Ramanayake has been appointed as the Director General of the Presidential Media Division. Shanuka Karunaratne has also been appointed as the Presidential Media Director.
Mr. Dhanushka Ramanayake, who was the media secretary of Mr. Patali Champika Ranawaka when he was minister, also worked as a director of the Sri Lanka Broadcasting Corporation and Independent Television Network (ITN) during the Yahapalana government.
Mr. Shanuka Karunaratne has previously worked as the Prime Minister’s Media Secretary.
In 2019, he has also served as the Deputy General Manager of the ITN.
Mr. Shanuka Karunaratne, who started his media life as an announcer, has worked in several media channels including Sri Lanka Broadcasting Corporation, ABC Media Network, Siyatha FM, Independent Television Network.
