The Galle Port Police have arrested 07 people including the main suspect involved in the murder in the petrol station queue in Magalle, Galle.
The police say that two more suspects are about to be arrested.
The police have also found a sword and several sharp weapons used in the murder. The police have taken into custody a motorcycle, a car, and a three-wheeler that they used for this murder.
A young engineering graduate of Sir John Kotalawala University has been murdered. The young man is Achira Salinda Peiris, a resident of Galle.
The young man’s brother and a friend were injured in the clash. The police said that a person involved in the murder was also injured.
The police say that a friend of the deceased youth had been waiting in the fuel queue for 04 days, so the dead boy, his brother, and his brother’s wife had come to see him. The police stated that the killing took place after a conflict arose due to entering another person’s vehicle in front of the friend’s car and waiting in line while they were away to drink tea.
