The Cabinet of Ministers has approved extending the service period of employees working in local government institutions on a contract and casual basis by 6 months.
Speaker of the House, Minister of Provincial Councils and Local Government Mr. Dinesh Gunawardena stated this in Parliament today (4).
Accordingly, the Minister mentioned that the heads of the local government bodies will be able to extend the service period of the relevant employees once every 6 months.
