Extensive discussion on obtaining assistance from the international community to alleviate the challenges facing the country held between Mr. GL Peiris and Mrs. Julie Chung, United States recently (27) at the Ministry of External Affairs
The Minister of Foreign Affairs stated that a long-term action plan can be implemented to provide short-term and timely solutions to alleviate the current difficulties facing France and its people.
In such a context, Sri Lanka is friendly to the international community, including multilateral organizations, and their support is highly valued, said Prof. Peiris.
The Foreign Minister also called for continued support from the United States and other countries through bilateral and multilateral channels to mitigate Sri Lanka’s economic challenges.
Minister of External Affairs Peiris has briefed the US College on the Government’s efforts to promote and maintain the rule of law and the rule of law in the country for the consensus of all on the right to freedom of expression and assembly.
He also did not inform the official about the discussions held with various political parties regarding the 21st Amendment to the Constitution.
Furthermore, despite the current economic challenges, the Government’s commitment to reconciliation and related issues was reaffirmed in the face of the Deputy Chamber of Commerce.
“The United States is a friend of Sri Lanka and is well aware of the challenges facing the country,” he said.
“The United States continues to support Sri Lanka in this difficult time,” she said.
