Defense Secretary General Kamal Gunaratne said that the former Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa was taken to the Trincomalee Naval Dock for security reasons.
That was at a press conference held today.
Mr. Gunaratne said that former Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa was taken to the Trincomalee Naval Base for security as it was not appropriate for him to stay at Temple Trees after the incidents happened near that place.
Defense Secretary Kamal Gunaratne further stated that the former Prime Minister was temporarily taken to the Naval Base in Trincomalee and that once the situation improves, the former Prime Minister will be sent to a place of his choice.
