Ravi Kumudesh, the convener of the Health Professionals Association, said a decision would be taken tomorrow (15) on whether to end the health professionals’ strike or not.
He added that a special executive council meeting of the Health Professionals Association will be held in Colombo tomorrow morning.
Ravi Kumudesh also told his union that he would seek cabinet approval today to increase overtime payments and on-call allowances for health workers.
Accordingly, if a positive response is received from the Cabinet meeting held this afternoon, a decision regarding the suspension of the strike could be taken tomorrow, Kumudesh said.
