“Today is possible, tomorrow is not sure” – Stories about electricity and water

The Public Utilities Commission says that it is possible to provide an uninterrupted power supply today but a decision will have to be taken regarding a power cut tomorrow.

The Ceylon Electricity Board says that the uninterrupted supply of electricity could be provided today as well and that the demand could increase tomorrow.

Therefore, the Ceylon Electricity Board is requesting the public to use electricity as sparingly as possible these days.

Kelanitissa Sojitz Private Power Plant which was recently shut down due to repairs has rejoined the national grid yesterday.

This will provide a capacity of 160 MW to the national grid.
