The Sri Lankan embassy in Kuwait says that the Sri Lankan woman who was conversed on social media, Krishnan Siriyani Chandralatha will be facilitated to return to Sri Lanka.
The Embassy of Sri Lanka in Kuwait has drawn attention to the videos circulating on social media about Krishnan Siriyani Chandralatha.
Following a tip-off, a complaint was lodged with the Kuwaiti police on Monday (21), the embassy said.
Embassy officials have sought their help to find the whereabouts of Ms. Chandralatha to ascertain information about her condition.
Accordingly, Ms. Chandralatha was found at her workplace by embassy officials with the help of the Kuwaiti Police Council.
Then, she was taken to the embassy yesterday (22).
The Sri Lankan embassy said that inquiries had confirmed that she had given false information to her children with the intention of returning to Sri Lanka as her current employer was delaying her trip to Sri Lanka.
The embassy further stated that she had confirmed that she had been paid on time and had not been harassed or threatened in any way by her employer or anyone else.
The embassy also said that the embassy would facilitate Ms. Chandralatha’s return to Sri Lanka once the Kuwaiti authorities conclude the inquiry.
