    A ministerial committee to look into the Muthurajawela issue

    An eight-member committee has been appointed to look into the issue that has arisen with the handing over of the Muthurajawela wetland to the Urban Development Authority.

    This committee has been appointed on the instructions of the President and the Prime Minister.

    Wildlife Minister CB Ratnayake, Nimal Lansa, Specialist Dr. Sudarshani Fernandopulle, State Ministers Nalin Fernando, Jayantha Weerasinghe, Weerasumana Weerasinghe and Gampaha District Secretary Sunil Jayalath have been appointed for this committee formed under the chairmanship of the Minister of Environment Mahinda Amaraweera and the Minister of State Dr. Nalaka Godahewa.

    Accordingly, the role of this committee is to discuss the issues arised and discuss them with other parties in this regard.
