President Gotabhaya Rajapaksa is scheduled to address the 76th General Assembly of the United Nations in New York today (22).
Despite the global epidemic, the summit kicked off yesterday afternoon with the participation of a number of world leaders.
This year’s UN Summit will focus on developing resilience through the hopes of recovering from the Covid-19 virus, rebuilding sustainability, responding to the needs of the planet, respecting human rights and reviving the United Nations.
According to the Presidential Media Unit, the President is scheduled to address the Food Systems Conference which is going to held parallel to the assembly and the High Level Dialogue on Energy.
During the session, President Gotabhaya Rajapaksa will hold bilateral talks with several heads of state.
