New Sri Lankan singer Yohani de Silva who sung the official cover song of Satheesan’s ‘Menike Mage Hithe ..’ and made it the 5th most-watched song in the world within 3 months has been appointed as the Cultural Ambassador between Sri Lanka and India, according to the Indian High Commission in Sri Lanka.
The Indian High Commission in Colombo has stated this while commenting on her recent interviews with a number of TV channels in India.
“It is a proud moment for the latest Cultural Ambassador, Yohani de Silva, to appear on India’s national television channels. With over 110 million YouTube views, her song ‘Menike Mage Hithe’ has won the hearts of millions of people in India, from celebrities to the general public. It reflects the true sweetness and depth of the thousands of years old Indo-Sri Lankan relationship. ” The Indian High Commission said.
I posted a Nationally important message in Yohani’s fb page on 13-09-2021. I’ve no idea that she has viewed it yet. If possible, please convey her the matter. I wish Yohani would never be captured/victimized by the so-so-called Leaders/Politicians of Srilanka.
