Do not get lost in Academic Research!

Research has been essential for the advancement of education in a country as well as in many studies.  Many academic degree programs place great emphasis on the research component, as it is essential that the student’s research competence be evaluated, thereby evaluating the quality of the study.  This is why a portion of the research is included for all degrees, from bachelor’s degrees in science and sociology to doctoral degrees (Ph.D. or Doctoral Degrees).

Over the 20 years of scientific research experience and observations in the past 7 years, I intend to write this article based on the research experience of many students, including my friends, and their experience in analyzing their data using SPSS software.

There are many questions about the quality of research for most educational purposes.  I can give the following reasons for that.

1. Most students do research only for the purpose of making their education successful and most of its data and conclusions are full of misinformation.
2. Lack of students’ knowledge of research methods and ethics in conducting research.
3. Minimize their knowledge of statistical methods and research principles.
4. Some research supervisors have little knowledge.
5. Lack of awareness of both teachers and students about the proper objectives of conducting research.
6. Research Supervisors are more likely to prefer or be aware of only one of two types of qualitative research or quantitative research.
7. Personal views of the Research Supervisor.

For this reason, it is a fact that I can see that most research has not been able to reach the desired objectives.
Some students give their research to compile by “someone”.

But the reason may be their busyness or lack of knowledge.  So my personal feeling is that the student should engage in academic research with the help of a well-knowledged supervisor or friend.

My personal feeling is that we as a country need “quality research to move forward”.  This will enhance the country’s knowledge system and bring the “name” of the researcher and Sri Lanka to the world by publishing such important research in international research journals.
