The Sri Lanka Red Cross Society has received Rs. 100,000,000 to donate to 6,500 families who lost their livelihoods due to the recent floods and maritime accidents in Sri Lankan waters.
The Sri Lanka Red Cross says they will provide Rs. 15,750 per family to 3,500 families in the flood-hit Colombo, Gampaha, Kalutara, Ratnapura, Puttalam and Galle districts and Rs. 15,000 each to 3,000 families in the Colombo and Gampaha districts affected by naval accidents.
Jagath Abeysinghe, President of the Sri Lanka Red Cross Society said that the money will be given unconditionally so that they can fulfill their needs with that money.
