Principals have stepped away from all duties from today (26), further increasing the trade union action already taken to eliminate teacher salary anomalies.
Piyasiri Fernando, Secretary of the Ceylon Principals’ Association, said that discussions with the Ministry of Education or the Provincial Education Office were not carried out and even telephone discussions were suspended.
Mr. Fernando said that the Secretary of Education has been informed about this new action.
The notice has been sent to the Secretary of Education with the signatures of the leaders of several principals’ associations including the Sri Lanka Professionals’ Association, Ceylon Principals ‘Association, National Principals ‘Association and Principals’ Service Association.
