A tragic accident occurred off the eastern coast of Sri Lanka when a fisherman fell into the sea while attempting to haul a swordfish onto the boat, and was fatally impaled by the fish’s bill.
The deceased has been identified as 44-year-old M.L. Sabdeen, a resident of Thiyavattuwan in Valachchenai, according to Valachchenai Police.
Police stated that the victim had been on a multi-day fishing trip with two others at the time of the incident.
