Former President Mahinda Rajapaksa and members of the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) paid tribute to war heroes this morning (May 20) at the War Memorial near the Parliament.
The event was held in line with the 16th Victory Day celebrations. Disabled and retired war veterans also joined the tribute ceremony.
Former President Gotabaya Rajapaksa arrived at the War Memorial alongside Mahinda Rajapaksa, who laid a floral tribute in honor of the fallen heroes.
SLPP National Organizer Namal Rajapaksa, former Speakers Chamal Rajapaksa and Mahinda Yapa Abeywardena, and former Ministers Rear Admiral Sarath Weerasekara, Ponsonby Fernando, Lohan Ratwatte, Lakshman Yapa Abeywardena, and Shanta Bandara were also present at the event.
