The Parliamentary Committee on Parliamentary Affairs has decided to commence a two-day debate on April 10 regarding the report of the Presidential Commission of Inquiry into Batalanda.
The committee has also decided to schedule the second day of the debate for another date in May.
The debate will focus on the report of the Presidential Commission appointed by former President Chandrika Bandaranaike Kumaratunga, which investigated the establishment of illegal detention centers and torture chambers at the Batalanda housing complex.
Let us hope adequate and appropriate punitive measures WILL be taken against ALL those found guilty regardless of their rank, position in life and common law..
