Colombo District Secretary Mr. Prasanna Ginige says that during these days when postal voting is carried out, no one can say these many people have received this many postal votes used for the presidential election.
He said this at the press conference held today (06) at the Colombo District Secretariat regarding the use of postal votes in the Colombo District.
He points out that the claims made by certain political parties and groups and their social media groups that they have a greater advantage in postal voting is an election rules violation.
He further said that it may be punished by law and the Election Commission will act on it.
Commenting further, he said that the use of postal voting in the Colombo district is more than 90% and no election rule violations were reported.
