Mr. Sunil Handunnetthi, the national executive member of the National People’s Power, says that only the compass can inherit a ‘rich country – a beautiful life’ to the people.
He said this while addressing the Kantale presidential election campaign rally of the ‘Rata Anurata’ National People’s Power.

“The district of Trincomalee is a district that symbolizes the unity of the Sinhalese, Tamil and Muslim people. Also, according to the development plan we have presented, it has been taken into consideration that this Trincomalee district can make a big contribution to that.
The so-called leader and his uncle together have sold many valuable places and resources of this Trincomalee district to foreign countries for looting. Some have been destroyed. Everyone knows that Ranil can’t. That’s why the piece that says it is ‘Puluwan’ is forcefully added to his theme. Our sugar factory in Kanthale, Trincomalee has an area of 2500 acres. The place that was to become the largest sugar factory in Asia. Who destroyed that chance? They are the joint governments of Rajapakse, Ranil Wickramasinghe, Sajith Premadasa. The oil tanks made by the British are a great resource for us. Who lost it to us? Now it is Ranilla who says you can. Today we have been denied a share and India has been given a share.
Our Trincomalee oil tankers are very important in strengthening the energy sector in our national production plan. We will soon take steps within our control to restore it and provide you with benefits. On the other hand, Trincomalee port is a great resource for our country. It is a very special port in the world in terms of its location. Who has deprived us of the opportunity to contribute to the construction of our economy? Those are the Ranil, Rajapaksa family, and the Premadasa family. Also, it was these rulers who could not provide our country with the opportunity to earn foreign exchange from the mineral resources by adjusting to a new production method based on the value added by the ilmenite deposit. After Anura became the President, we have planned to improve that resource by using modern technology with the participation of the people and earn foreign exchange for the country. We have planned under a government of the National People’s Power to improve large farmer colony movements such as the Kantale Farmer Colony Movement and achieve benefits for the people of this area as well as the people of the country.
We know that if fertilizers, seeds and water are given in time, this area is ready to harvest and contribute a part to the national production of the country. It has now been proved that Ranil, Sajith and Rajapaksa cannot take advantage of these things. When talking about the dairy industry, Kantale milk is famous all over the country. Not only that, even if we take the fishing industry, the fresh water fishing industry is related to the Kantale lake and land reservoirs. On the other side, short sea fishing is done in areas like Kinniya. Even if you go to Trincomalee or Muthur, you can supply the country with fish and dried fish. That great fish resource can add great value to the economy. But these rulers have not taken them into account. Those guys can’t do it. Now they can’t do it even if they say they can. Now those guys’ time is over. Trincomalee district has no shortage of tourist places with historical value, Buddhist, Hindu and Islamic sacred places. If tourism can be developed under a related formal plan, our country will have the ability to earn dollars through it.
