The Election Commission has announced that it has accepted the nominations of all 39 candidates for the 2024 presidential election.
Although three objections were submitted, they were rejected due to non-compliance with the relevant provisions.
39 of the 40 candidates who deposited the security deposit submitted their nominations today at the General Election Secretariat in Rajagiriya.
The nomination process ended at 11.00 am.
Chairman of the Election Commission RMAL Ratnayake said that 03 objections were received for the nomination.
Battaramulla Selarathana Thero has not nominated a specific candidate.
Oshala Herath and Nisansala Kumari, who handed over the nominations for the presidential election to Janaka Priyantha Ratnayake, had raised objections.

Candidates were given 9.00 am to 11.00 am today to submit their nominations at the General Election Secretariat.

The period for accepting bail money related to the presidential election ended yesterday (14) at 12.00 noon.
