The National Election Commission says that there are problems with the secretariat of six of the recognized political parties.
In a special gazette notice issued by the commission, it was stated that there are problems regarding the secretariat of the Sri Lanka Progressive Front, Elawar Democratic Front, United People’s Freedom Alliance, Eksath Lanka Podujana Party, Eksath Lanka Maha Sabha Party and Lanka Janata Party.
The Election Commission announced in the Gazette that 84 political parties have been accepted for election purposes under the 1981 Parliamentary Elections Act No. 01.
