According to the Department of Meteorology, there is a favorable atmospheric condition for the occurrence of thunderstorms in the evening in the next few days.
Western and Sabaragamuwa provinces and Galle and Matara districts will experience occasional rain or thundershowers.
In the rest of the island there will be scattered showers or thundershowers during the evening or night.
Heavy rains of more than 75mm may occur in some areas of North, North Central, Eastern and Uva provinces.
People are kindly requested to take necessary measures to minimize the dangers caused by temporary strong winds and lightning that may accompany thunderstorms.
